Denier de l’Église

Summary

The Catholic Church’s primary resource, the "Denier de l’Église," is an annual donation made by Catholics, raising 212 million euros in 2024. A service allows donations via SMS to 92377, with specific terms of use, including payment through mobile operators, available only in mainland France, and no tax receipts for these donations.

The Catholic Church carries out its missions thanks to the generosity of the faithful: since 1905, its primary resource has been the Denier de l’Église, an annual financial contribution from Catholics to their diocese aimed at ensuring the material life of priests. In 2024, the Denier represented 212 million euros, an increase of 0.9% compared to 2023.
