"Presbyterorum ordinis" a 60 ans : ce que le décret conciliaire inspire encore en 2025 aux futurs prêtres et à leurs formateurs
Summary
"Presbyterorum ordinis," promulgated in 1965, continues to inspire seminarians and trainers in 2025 with its vision of the priesthood. Discussions and videos will be available to mark its 60th anniversary.
Promulgated on December 7, 1965, "Presbyterorum ordinis" ("the order of priests") aims to understand the life and mission of priests. It unfolds a profoundly missionary vision of the ministerial priesthood: configured to Christ the Shepherd, rooted in the Eucharist, exercised in service to the People of God, and inseparably linked to ecclesial communion. To mark this anniversary, the National Service of Vocations of the Conference of Bishops of France invited seminarians, seminary rectors, and trainers to comment on selected excerpts. Their reflections demonstrate how the fruits of the Second Vatican Council continue to guide those preparing for the priestly ministry today.
The full videos will be available on December 8. Meanwhile, here's an excerpt to give you a sense of their content!
